Microsoft LogoMicrosoft Corporation has been rapidly developing a competitor to the Apple iPod in order to take away marketshare from Apple in the portable music sector.  The name of Microsoft’s product is named Zune.

As pictured below, the Microsoft Zune features a scroll wheel with four Zune Logobuttons embedded on it which aids in navigation.  The interface of Zune’s software looks like Microsoft’s standard Media Center and has transparent fonts and speed scrolling for alphabetical music selection.

There’s a grip in the back of the Zune and it has magnetic headphones, an FM radio, WiFI, and a “capture settings” feature.

On September 14, Microsoft will be holding private press conferences to answer questions about their new product.  More updates will be coming soon as Microsoft rollsout more information about costs and date of availability.
