The Black Carpet LogoMySpace.com has launched a new feature called “The Black Carpet” on September 15, 2006 where users can see advanced screenings of movies. This service is currently available in Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Australia, and Canada. On September 20, it will be available in 20 U.S. cities. If users add The Black Carpet Screenings to their MySpace friend list, a set of instructions will be sent to them on how to access these screenings at their local theaters.

The first movie is about a character who is a subsidiary program of Da Ali G Show called Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. Borat is played by British comedian, Sacha Baron Cohen. Borat is available to be added as a MySpace friend as well.

Implementing marketing schemes are commonplace for many social networks. MySpace is added advanced screenings, YouTube added a celebrity profile for Paris Hilton, and Facebook has added an Apple profile where users can download free music.
