Myspeex.com announced today they will start creating social networks for mobile phones and corporate intranets. Miguel Vitorino, founder of Myspeex in Portugal, was quoted “The burgeoning number of sites of the so-called ‘Web 2.0′ technology shows that the Internet is moving fast to a more personal paradigm where sites care for your needs and wishes and not the other way around.”
Approaching social networks for corporate intranets is certainly a unique idea whereas many other social networks have penetrated the social network mobile market such as Facebook’s mobile features. “Corporate social networking applications could reinforce company’s identity, improve internal communications and promote brand loyalty,” says Vitorino. Myspeex representatives have been talking to several global corporations about the idea. As for corporate responses, Vitorino says that “the feedback has been fantastic; our clients were the first to propose applications for the technology we didn’t think about.”
Myspeex began operations in July 2006 and is currently based in Portugal. The company hopes to expand in New York and London by 2007. Currently, Myspeex’s nickname is “YouTube for text.”
