Where did Konnects come from?

Konnects, Inc., based out of Tacoma, Washington, is a social network website that connects individuals in 100 industries around 320 cities (and growing) around the world. Konnects allows people to register an account based on geography or in a desired sector such as Import/Exports and Telecommunications.
Once a user creates a profile in a desired sector, they do not have to recreate a profile to join other sectors. They are free to move about in the different industries. Konnect users can customize their profile pages. The purpose of Konnect is to limit your connections to business professionals who you are interested in interacting with, not the random people that will add you on MySpace and ask you to look at their webcams for a fee. On the Konnects homepage, there are several featured profiles of users.
I would say that the problem with Konnects is that it lacks incentive for users to sign up. Facebook offers unlimited photos uploading, birthday reminders, and blog feeds on top of connecting you to people in different networks and “industries”. And since Facebook is planning on opening their doors to anyone with an e-mail address, you get the benefit of being connected to users in different industries and professions on top of the other perks that it offers.
Someone please tell me why someone would want to join Konnects. I would be shocked if Konnects joins the rankings of Facebook and MySpace.
