You know how Digg.com encourages you to digg stories that you think are interesting? Beta Marker encourages you to “Mark” the software releases that people enjoy using. The submitted software marks can be in alpha or beta phases. On every post, there is a link to download the software, the ability for users to submit new versions, a description software requirements and software cost, screenshots, and the ability to track new versions of software via RSS.

Beta Marker is growing at a rapid pace. Beta Marker allows you to sort marks by various categories including Anti-Virus, Developer Tools, Drivers, IM software, and Internet software tools. Users are allowed to make comments, digg, tag, and e-mail posts.

Another feature of Beta Marker is the ability to look at Top betas and Top users. Some of the Top betas includes the newest versions Mozilla Firefox, CCleaner (Crap Clearner), WinRAR, and Skype. The Top users are the ones that submit the most software versions.

As far as finding a management profile, there isn’t one available on their website, but there is a link to the company blog. It turns out the name of the founders go by Maya and Eyal.

Amit’s Thoughts:
I believe that this is another great way for software to be promoted. However, I do see that a setback is that some of the more mainstream software such as Firefox may monopolize “marks” and may always be a “Top Beta.”

Gentlemen, start your marking! I would like to know about some of the latest and greatest things to download out there.
