Facebook released a new feature discreetly in their photo album services which I discovered when a friend asked me to make a couple of my photo albums public for everyone to see from my recent trip to Bombay. I’m always skeptical about making any of my photos public because during my tenure at Michigan State, I have had several “Frank the Tank” types of escapades and somehow pictures of these moments somehow finds itself on Facebook or videos on YouTube. And from what I hear, employers don’t think highly about finding pictures of you being held up by your friends for a game of keg stand.
Here is a sample of how it works:

After you create a Photo Album in Facebook, upload the photos, choose a photo album cover, you now have several settings to choose from: View | Edit | Print | Share. I discussed what Print does [here], but the Share option is definetely a new one.

When you click on Share, Facebook gives you a link that is viewable by all members and non-members:

I blacked out the link, but this is the link that you can use to Share your pictures with everyone. It is these little options that Facebook gives that makes the Facebook service a lot more meaningful despite all the crap they are taking for opening registration for everyone and adding the mini- and news-feeds.
