On September 22, 2006, WriteToMyBlog was launched by Mark W. B. Ashcroft based out of Melbourne, Australia. What is WriteToMyBlog (WTMB)? WTMB is a free Blog client which is available on the Web that is banking on the efficiency of writing a credible blog post. Users can create tables, add super- and sub-scripts, change font properties, insert images and flash documents, and publish posts to your blog with great ease.

WriteToMyBlog Toolbar

For every individual post, WTMB allows users to spell check documents which is a unique feature for a blog toolbar. Many users are forced to copy and paste their posts to Microsoft Word and see if it picks up on any of the misspellings or bad grammar. WTMB notifies users of misspellings the same way that Microsoft Word does, underlining the word with a squiggly red line and if you place the cursor over the misspelled word, the WTMB’s AJAX tool gives suggestions, which I thought was really cool. The spell checker is currently available in many languages including English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian.

WTMB acts as a gateway between your blog provider when Publishing and makes sure to ensure privacy. WTMB also allows you to add tags for Technorati detecting purposes, trackback articles, and publish to many blogs at once through its UI. Posts also can be saved as a draft.

Other notable features on WTMB is the ability to setup rollover images, full-screen your post text area, cleanup messy code, undo/redo, edit CSS styles and preview posts. This is definetely not your ordinary post editor.

To imagine what WTMB is like: take Microsoft Word and Dreamweaver, mash them together, and stick it on the web. I assure you, WTMB is a rejoice to all bloggers.
