TV Bistro, a new website launched last month provides users free Internet TV channels from 15 different countries and 6 languages.  As of right now there are news, music videos, cartoons, sports, and other types of TV programming available live and some of them are featured on TV network websites such as BBC, C-SPAN, the Sci-Fi Channel, and MTV.  TV Bistro aims to make finding TV programs easier and cross-cultural.

“The goal of the website is to allow people to view channels over the Internet from around the world at absolutely no cost,” stated Yevgeniy Leshchinskiy, the founder of TV Bistro. “Our website allows the user to have a much greater choice of the channels they can view online. Cable and satellite dish service can be expensive, and usually do not provide anywhere close to the selection of foreign language stations we are offering on TVBistro.com. We are focused on providing a large selection of stations, while also showing channels not available through normal television outlets.”

The languages and channels that TV Bistro currently supports include English, French TV, German TV, Russian TV, Spanish TV, Chinese TV, Mexican TV, Chilean TV, and Argentianian TV.  On the English section there is 1 Children’s TV channel, 1 Comedy TV channel, 6 Entertainment channels, 1 Horror channel, and 15 Music channels.  There are plenty more options in the other language sections as well.

What makes TV Bistro an impressive website is that it rarely seen that a video sharing website provides cross-cultural channels.  This proves that TV Bistro is aiming for diverse groups of people to be receptive of their service.  I am anxious to see what other languages and channels are to be added.
