In 2000, Paul Hirner and Ari Freeman were the original owners of the domain name MySpace.com which was to provide free harddrive disk space for anyone on the web. Before MySpace.com, Hirner and Freeman also owned FreeDiskSpace.com. Since 2003, the current owner of MySpace launched a $580 million website (whose current valuation is in the billions). As for FreeDiskSpace.com, today they were acquired by Swords & Cues L.L.C. for an undisclosed amount.
What does FreeDiskSpace.com do today? It serves as a hub for MySpace users to add sprinkles of multimedia into their MySpace profiles including images, videos, Flash games, layouts, backgrounds, and other forms of “glitter.”
“FreeDiskSpace.com is not affiliated in any way, nor endorsed by, this new service[MySpace][source].” Swords & Cues L.L.C. also owns eLearn2Earn.com, 123FindaWebDesigner.com, StudentLoanSearch.info, WeLovePool.com, CreditWanted.com and NiagaraPokerSupply.com.
