A9.com, a Palo Alto, CA subsidiary company of Amazon.com has produced Clickriver which is currently in Beta. Clickriver has developed a competitive service to take on Google AdWords and Yahoo! Search Marketing. Clickriver has developed an advertisement program for users to pay to place pay-per-click ads alongside results from Amazon search results.
Amazon.com is a top 20 most visited website in the world, so placing ads alongside Amazon’s millions of products would be advantageous for a users’ brand awareness using Clickriver. Since Clickriver is currently in Beta, they are only accepting invitations.
“Ads for hotels, car rentals and travel agencies can display on pages for travel books, sunglasses, suitcases, portable DVD players and other travel accessories sold on Amazon.com” states the About Clickriver page.
