As long as people are using Windows as their operating system, Microsoft is alright. Microsoft's influence and presence have decreased though with the appearance of some great programs and applications; Gmail, mozilla firefox, Google search engine etc. Also Linux the free operating system available widely in many versions in many countries. Its free and safe, there is no viruses for linux. Mac OS also a great operating system. In the gaming console department its not true that Microsoft has the strongest market presence. Not even close I would say. The Playstation 1, 2 and 3 have sold many more consoles and released many more games then Microsoft's Xbox and Xbox 360. There is also Nintendo which is quite succesful. In conclusion Microsoft has been losing ground lately but its stunning market share in operating system will forbid any near future threats to the throne.
