MySpace News LogoAs of this Thursday, MySpace will fully launch a feature called MySpace News.  The homepage will contain news stories that users can vote for an are added through a web crawler.  The news stories are expected to be unbiased towards News Corporation and MySpace news.

Some of the news stories that are appearing on the homepage right now are being pulled from TheOnion.com, MLB, Time.com, BoingBoing, and a couple of other popular stories.  A majority of the news pertains to analysis of the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University shootings that occurred on April 17.

The new feature is powered by Newroo, a news aggregation company that Fox Interactive Media acquired around mid-March 2006.  The news will be filtered into 25 categories and 300 sub-categories such as sports and politics.
