I disagree with your point-of-view that less notification will not be good for facebook. Those people who "SPAM" your email box, would prefer to opt-out on the status updates and notification because they spend more time on facebook than on their eMail. I disagree with your point-of-view that less notification will not be good for facebook.

Those people who “SPAM” your email box, would prefer to opt-out on the status updates and notification because they spend more time on facebook than on their eMail.
