FlyRig is a New York City apartment rental site that utilizes Google Map APIs and RSS feeds.  For those who are interested in finding places to rent in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, and Staten Island, FlyRig is a great option.  The site is still new and lacks a large amount of listings for now, but as it develops in the next few years, it will be a good alternative to Rent.com, Apartment.com, and Craigslist for their specific demographic.

Since the company launched in December 2007, they have signed up about 200 brokers from various agencies around New York.  The company is privately funded and is owned by Adrian Liang.

Users can filter results by the aforementioned cities, neighborhoods, number of bedrooms, and price.  When clicking on a result, there are several specifications of each property displayed.  The properties displayed is the address, price, bed/bath, neighborhood, last update, broker contact information, description, broker fee required, unit info, building type, and building info.  Pictures can also be submitted for each property.  School zones are displayed below the Google Map as well.

FlyRig is a practical way to use Google Map APIs.  Below is a screen shot of a search result’s profile page:
