“We were impressed with the accomplishments made by the Liftopia founders in creating an innovative platform focusing on revenue management for the alpine resort industry,” stated Jim Connor of Sand Hill Angels. “Liftopia enables providers of leisure services to test, measure and manage the demand and revenue for their products. We see Liftopia’s platform becoming a ‘must have’ for any serious manager of resort-related activities.”

Liftopia is a social network for avid skiiers that has videos, photos, groups, message boards, classifieds, and blogs. The site also finds discounts at specific snowing skiing resorts. Liftopia’s partner resorts are in Utah, Pennsylvania, Southern California, Lake Tahoe, New York, New England, Colorado, New Mexico, Alaska, and British Columbia.

Liftopia has successfully raised a Series A investment.  The amount was undisclosed, but was provided by Sand Hill Angels and North Bay Angels.  Erik Blachford, former CEO of Expedia is also an investor.   Liftopia was started in 2005 and is based in San Francisco, Calif.
