This a double standard. People put up advertisements in their videos on youtube. So if NBC/FOX want to make money off of their programming, then they should just should just put advertisements on the videos on youtube. Besides, it's not like full length episodes are being uploaded every where, the most common thing people find are clips. As far as I'm concerned, people should be allowed a "taste" of their programming material which could persuade them watch their programming if they don't watch it often or go out and buy a season or two on DVD. I have heard of the HBO drama, The Wire and I was really interested in wanting to watch it. But Unfortunately I didn't have cable, so I went on youtube and in the search i typed in "The Wire" and i watched some of the clips including the introduction credits and I got a "taste" of what kind of show it was and what I should expect out of it. That was in 2008. Now It is 2012 and I have at least four seasons on DVD, finishing the fourth season last week and I intend to buy the fifth season that is if I do not receive it as a gift from a good friend or relative like the fourth one, knowing of my love for such an incredible show I might not have given a second thought if it weren't for various YouTube users.
