MyToons Not Joking Around, Raises Another Round

“Our typical uploader is a professional or student animator,” stated MyToons CEO Dan Krause. “We absolutely have a vested interest in helping animators.” Krause is a former Microsoft animation engineer.

MyToons, a social network for animation connoisseurs has raised another round of funding.  The second round of funding was undisclosed, but the investors involved were Syncom Venture Partners and Barshop Ventures. 

Barshop Ventures, The Texas Emerging Technology Fund, and several other investors provided MyToons with their first round of funding.  This round of funding will be used for scaling and adoption.  MyToons recently upgraded their services to have video available in HD format.  MyToons currently has about 10,000 members.

MyToons’ biggest competitor is AniBoom.  AniBoom has raised about $14.5 million over the last year.  MyToons is based in San Antonio, TX.
