Not cool. I think ChaCha should use the money from the funding that they have and hire salaried white collars to make more strategic decisions about their company rather than under-paying their search guides.

So this seemed liked a good way to make extra money on the side, since I’m a full-time student. I figured that without the cost of gas or commute time, it would even out just a bit. I worked for 5 hours and did some math. I had made $8.80 after 100 questions. That’s about $1.81 an hour. That is such a ridiculously low wage, not to mention nowhere near the $3-$9 I was told I would make while going through the training. I think this is a terrible way to treat the “independent contractors.” I’m out.

That’s ridiculous. I suppose they get away with it because Guides are not their “employees,” instead, they’re “independent contractors.” It’s insulting! I just became a Guide last week figuring it would be nice to make a little extra cash while my baby napped. I’m worth FAR MORE than a measly $3.
