Xpanity is a chat software based in Israel.  The company plans on raising a $6 million round of funding.  So far the company has raised $1.5 million, $1.2 million from angel investors and $300K from the founder.  When surfing around on different websites, Xpanity will notify you when someone else that uses Xpanit is on the same site.  From there, you can engage in conversation.

Xpanity plans on using their software to share revenue with website owners.  In exchange of the revenue sharing program, websites would promote Xpanity.  Xpanity is a Firefox plugin.

Personally I wouldn’t download this application myself because I don’t have an interest in chatting with people that I don’t know.  But a lot of people on the Internet are lonely and want to meet virtual friends, so Xpanity could be a hit.
