American Diabetes Association Partners With Healia Search Engine

Healia has partnered with the The American Diabetes Association (ADA) to empower Healia Communities.  Healia is a health search engine that allows users to receive guidance on health decisions.  The partnership between the ADA and Healia will allow ADA to communicate directly with Healia members.  About 24 million Americans had diabetes in 2007.

“This collaboration with the ADA is an example of how Healia is working with trusted nonprofit organizations to help people find relevant information and support in order to make important health decisions,” stated Tom Eng, President and Founder of Healia. “We hope that people with diabetes, or those taking care of someone with diabetes, will find the diabetes communities on Healia to be essential resources for information and support.”

Healia Communities are powered by physicians, nurses, doctors, etc.

“We’re excited about this opportunity to reach out and help even more people affected by diabetes through our relationship with Healia Communities,” stated Helen Mitternight, VP of communications and external relations for the American Diabetes Association. “It allows the American Diabetes Association to give people personalized answers to their questions about diabetes, and really dovetails with our mission to improve the lives of all those affected by diabetes.”
