Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) and Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) are close to reaching a deal.  The search engines that are connected on the mobile phone homepages seem to be less of a preference for users.  The deal would make Google the default search engine service for Verizon users.  Then Google and Verizon would share the revenue.

Verizon and Google are still working out the deal.  According to a source at The WSJ, Verizon is reluctant to store information about users regarding what they search for.  Google is known for storing this typ of information.  Verizon has also considered Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) as a partner for search.

Sprint Nextel Corporatin (NYSE:S) also recently made Google their default search engine.  AT&T  Inc. (NYSE:T) plans on using Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO).  T-Mobile and KDDI already have partnerships with Google and Yahoo!  JumpTap uses Ask.com.  Why hasn’t Microsoft signed any search deals?  Maybe they are satisfied about having SmartPhones powered by the Windows Mobile operating system.
