Charifree is a Facebook application where users vote for charities. Every month, the top 5 charities will receive money that is generated from Charifree’s sponsors and advertisers minus a few operating costs. The operating costs never exceed 5% of the revenue made by Charifree.

The leading charities of August 2008 so far is World Wildlife Fund, AAUW Leadship & Training Institute, Doctors Without Borders USA, The Maria Watt Birmingham Foundation for Childhood & Teenage Leukaemia, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Charifree was created by University of Massachusetts student, Matthew Cheung. Right now there are about 207 monthly users on the application. Charifree is currently looking for other volunteers and sponsors.
