Engadget was co-founded by former Gizmodo editor, Peter Rojas. Ryan Block, Engadget’s former editor-in-chief stepped down on July 22, 2008 and left Engadget to be run by Joshua Topolsky.
Gdgt.com is a new and upcoming consumer electronics website that is started by Peter Rojas and Ryan Block. Gdgt.com is still under construction, but there is a weekly podcast available on the site.
Gdgt is not going to be a gadget blog according to Alley Insider. Insider believes that Gdgt will possibly be a social network since the site is soliciting users to create user names.
