Today Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) set up a preview version of a free application that they are launching for the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone.  The application is called oneConnect.  OneConnect aggregates several instant messaging services in one application.

“OneConnect allows everybody to keep connected to the persons they care about. It’s a socially connected address book,” stated Marco Boerries, EVP of Yahoo Connected Life at the CTIA Wireless show. “The address book now comes to life.”

There isn’t any word about whether Yahoo! will make this application compatible with Android down the line.  One of oneConnect’s features is called Pulse.  Pulse pulls news feeds about friends from MySpace, Facebook, Bebo, Last.fm, and other social networks.

Yahoo! will monetize oneConnect through ad sales.

“We believe that because of the inherent personal nature of the mobile
device,” added Boerries.  “We should see significantly
greater CPMs or CPCs,”
