Dopplr Raises Second Round From Plethora Of Investors

Dopplr is a website where users share travel plans for networking purposes.  The investors in this round includes:

Saul Klein was also part of the last round of funding which included seasoned entrepreneur Martin Varsavsky, LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman, and Creative Commons CEO Joichi Ito.

For example, when you tell Dopplr your plans to go to Hong Kong, you might get the latest intelligence from Monocle and offers from boutique hotels picked by Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”

Users can subscribe to travel plans with other users on the site and link it to the built-in calendar.  This travel social network competes directly with and    Dopplr plans to use the funding to expand within it’s strong base in Europe.  Dopplr currently has offices in London, England and Helsinki, Finland.

Dopplr was founded by Matt Biddulph, Matt Jones, Lisa Sounio, and Dan Gillmor with Marko Ahtisaari as a founding investor.
