Teachit.co.uk is a U.K.-based education website that is about 9 years old.  John Burke, Managing Director of Industry Development and Marketing at Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has made an undisclosed investment in Teachit according to paidContent

“There were a number of other private investors, who are not taking board positions,” stated Garry Pratt, MD of Teachit.  “The founders still control over 80 percent of the company. John’s investment is private and he is staying on at his position with Google.”  Teachit plans to use the funding to introduce their site to the U.S. and markets of other countries.

Teachit.co.uk definetely looks like it’s a 9 year old site.  The site design is pretty tacky.  First thing I’d do with the funding if I were them is to do a complete design overhaul.  The screenshot of the design is below:
