The people who design plastic clamshell packaging are idiots. About a week ago, I bought a new set of  crappy headphones. Taking apart the plastic packaging that enclosed the headphones was a horrific experience. First, I tried opening the damn thing with my car keys. Not the brightest idea. Then I spent an hour looking for a pair of scissors. No luck there.  I finally succeeded by using a big ass butcher knife.

It looks like Jeff Bezos also hates clamshell plastic packaging. Amazon recently announced its plans to roll out  easy to open packaging on some of its best selling products.

“I think we’ve all experienced the frustration that sometimes occurs when you try to get a new toy or electronics product out of its package,” said Jeff Bezos.

Eventually, the company would like to offer its entire product catalog in frustration-free packaging.
