MySpace Plans To Monetize Pirated Content
Shan Sadiq | Monday November 3, 2008 | 535 views| Add a CommentMySpace will use the help a company called Auditude to monetize pirated content. When a video is uploaded, Auditude will scan the video’s content against its index. If “professional” content is detected, an ad will be inserted into the clip.
In the past, MySpace simply removed copyrighted content.
This is a move in the right direction for MySpace. The company can significantly boost its revenues by inserting ads into pirated content. This move will also offer consumers the freedom to share a variety of content on MySpace.
