Amazon.com Unleashes Content Delivery Network, CloudFront

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) has unleashed a new content delivery network service called CloudFront.  CloudFront complements Amazon.com’s current S3 offerings. CloudFront will have low latency, high transfer speeds, and no commitments according to their sign-up page.

Amazon announced this past September that they were planning on launching the CDN service.  The CDN service will be purely consumption based.  CloudFront directly competes with Akamai, BitGravity, Cachefly, EdgeCast, Level3, Limelight, etc.
