Apple’s Last Year At Macworld With No Steve Jobs!

This is the last year that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will be appearing at Macworld Conference & Expo.  Sadly Steve Jobs will not be making an appearance either.  Philip Schiller, Apple Senior Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing will be delivering the keynote this year.  The Conference will be held at the Moscone West in San Francisco, California.  The conference will be taking place between January 5-9, 2009 and Apple’s keynote will take place on January 6.

Why is Apple not appearing at any more Macworld Conferences after this?  Reports indicate that the company is able to reach most customers than ever before through the increase in their retail stores and the Apple website.  Apple wants to scale back the costs associated with appearing at trade shows.  This is why they have scaled back on trade shows like Macworld Tokyo, the Apple Expo in Paris, the NAB, etc.

Many people are concerned that Steve Jobs will not be attending due to health concerns.  However it turns out that the the reasons for Jobs not appearing at Macworld this year is due to political reasons.  Apple would rather market their products themselves and have full control of their own messages to consumers.
