Guitar Hero: Metallica To Have A High Level Of Difficulty

Guitar Hero was introduced to the video game market three years ago.  Having sold 22 million copies of their Guitar Hero games, Activision and Neversoft are stepping up their franchise by creating Guitar Hero: Metallica.  This game will be especially designed for the hardcore guitar and drum players.

“Most of the songs have a higher level of difficulty, certainly at the end of the game when you are playing the old-school Metallica stuff where you play really, really fast and there’s lot of double bass (drum) playing, fast guitar playing and crazy leads,” stated Alan Flores, lead designer of the game in an interview with USA Today.

This year Metallica has a new album called Death Magnetic that has gone platinum, premiering at number one on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart.   This is Metallica’s fifth album that has consecutively achieved this task.  Metallica has also received 4 Grammy nominations.

When Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich was asked how this game came about, he replied “I think my kids decided for me. I was first introduced to Guitar Hero in my house about a year ago by my kids. They became big fans of Deep Purple and Black Sabbath and all the bands I grew up on. It seemed like this was the first video game that really brought the family together.”

Guitar Hero can be played solo or with up to four people – two guitarists, a singer, and drums.
