Research In Motion Sues Motorola For Job Offer Blocks

Research In Motion (RIM), the makers of BlackBerry is suing Motorola Inc. for blocking them from hiring former and current employees of the Razr maker.  The lawsuit was filed in Chicago this past Tuesday.  This lawsuit occurred three months after Motorola accused RIM of violating an agreement that the 2 companies would not solicit each other’s employees.

“RIM entities continue to grow and hire new employees within the United States and globally against a backdrop of recent public announcements by Motorola that it has and will continue to make massive layoffs,” stated RIM in the lawsuit document.

RIM wanted the agreement to become invalidated as it expired in August.  In the lawsuit, RIM is also seeking unspecified damages for “unfair competition” practices from Moto.
