In these pressing times when you hear about lay-offs constantly, it is rather difficult to breed job loyalty out of people. Especially when some people are hanging by a string compared to others. But that doesn’t mean you can’t lose your sense of humor. Jason Shugars quit Google and sent a funny e-mail before he left. “So long, suckers! I’m out!” stated Jason in the e-mail sent to 5,000 of his former fellow Google employees.
In the rest of the goodbye e-mail, Shugars reminisced about good times working at the search engine company. This includes the time when he put cake down his pants at a sales conference. He also stole his boss’ $8,000 leather couch. And he also sang “Hit Me Baby One More Time” while wearing a mini-skirt and braids.
“It took me a long time to write it,” stated Shugars. “I didn’t want to send out a stale ‘good working with you, please reach me here’ e-mail. Who wants that?” Shugars, 34, left Google to become Director of Ad Operations of Imeem. Imeem is a music social media company that receives abou 25 million visitors per month and gains about 65,000 new users per day.
Below is a video of Shugars being featured on The Today Show.
Edison Chen is a pop star, born in Vancouver and is very famous in Hong Kong. However he was disgraced when his personal photos leaked onto the Internet. The photos displayed his personal exploits with several female celebrities. Chen gave evidence that a computer technician Sze Ho-Chun posted the photos online. These photos forced Chen into an early retirement and sent him to flee to Vancouver.
Chen appeared in court yesterday regarding this incident. The women that Chen were involved with in the photos include pop star Gillian Chung, Cecilia Cheung, and Bobo Chen. Chen said in court that the photos were his own and had been stored in a personal laptop that went missing last year. Chen said that there was “some foul play” in the computer store that his laptop got sent to.
“I’m quite a private person,” said Chen. “This was never meant for anyone else to see.” The hearing started yesterday and was wrapped up in a day.
Chen was discovered a decade ago in a Hong Kong night club. Chen recorded 16 albums under the EEG (Emperor Entertainment Group) label. His latest album was in 2007 and was called “Allow Me To Reintroduce Myself.” Chen also had a cameo in The Dark Night. The scandal caused his career to decline.
To make matters worse, Chen was supposedly dating Vincy Yeung at the time of the scandal. Yeung is the niece of the head of EEG. Basically the niece of his boss. Many people around China were arrested for reposting the photos. According to Google, Chen was one of the most searched for celebrities as of late last year.
This interview made me want to buy the Kindle 2 even more. Especially the part where Bezos said that with the Kindle 2, you can read with only one hand.
Does someone keep stealing your Huffy? The Giken Company in Japan has devised a way to safely store bicycles within a facility without the need for a lock. The Giken “Eco-park” has the bike owner place their wheels on a runway and then swipe an ID card. The ID card has a monthly fee.
Once the machine identifies the person, the bike is fulled into the garage and the doors close immediately. Each garage has about 144 rails for the bikes and they must abide within a certain size. Tire size can’t be any bigger than 28 inches.

You may remember that Armin Heinrich created a $999 iPhone application called I Am Rich. A few people bought it, some on accident, but then Apple removed it and refunded the money. Now a similar application is showing up in the Android Marketplace for $200.
The $200 price is the maximum charge that a developer can have for a single app in the Android Market. The difference between the I Am Rich app and the I Am Richer application is the color of the diamond. The I Am Rich application has a red diamond.
To be honest with you, I believe that these “rich” applications are crap. They are pretentious and are a waste of money. I can think of about 200 reasons why you should not buy the “I Am Richer” application. All 200 reasons that I would give you all link to charity so don’t ask me to list them. Its your money.
