Apple has confirmed that the company had lay offs yesterday.  About fifty salespeople were laid off.  This is not considered a major layoff otherwise Apple would have had to file through the WARN Act.  Many of the cuts were made in Apple’s enterprise group.

Apple’s enterprise group sells servers and other products to corporate customers.  These lay offs in the enterprise group indicates that Apple will be primarily focusing on consumer markets going forward.
