According to several reports, several iPhone developers have been having a hard time renewing their licenses for application development. The problem was that Apple did not have a system in place for application renewals quite yet. Rather than keeping developers on hold, they automatically extended licenses until about July 11. That is the date when the iTunes App Store opened for business.
Apple also announced that developers can renew the iPhone Developer Program contracts in May. This is 60 days prior to the new Program expiration date.
About 25,000 applications have been listed thus far. The growth has been amazing for Apple that they are backed up with granting approval for developers and applications. Now licenses will no longer be an issue for the company.
