Banpresto, a subsidiary company of Bandai has created a mini shaking hip device that is powered by USB. Even though this device is the exact opposite of sexy, it is being offered in four different colors in Japan starting in June. I guess that it was entertaining enough for people to want variety. They cost about $15.

Several companies are now starting to prefer employees to work from home in order to save money and time.  The problem with working at home are all the distractions such as pets, calls made on your landline, and personal chores.  This is where the OfficePOD concept comes in.  The OfficePOD has a small space in the form of a cubicle with a large window and it is placed outside.

The OfficePOD has just enough space to fit your computer, a desk, desk chair, phone, printer, shelves etc. in it.  OfficePOD will start leasing the units in the United Kingdom for about $7,100 per year.

The Helms’ SoundBuddy II K999B Mini 2.1 Digital Audio System looks very sleek.  Its painted a glossy black and it really makes your iPod look stylish standing up.  But the sound quality has not been getting good reviews.  The device costs $140, requires four AA batteries, and can play for about 10 hours. iLounge reported “the highs and mids sound flattened and radio-like, with some treble sibilance and seeming distortion at normal listening levels. Somewhat amazingly, even the bass turns out to be anemic at its maximum level.”

Before you cough up the money for this just based on looks, make sure that you know what you are getting yourself into when it comes to sound quality.

Over the weekend, The Huffington Post (HuffPo) reported that they will be hiring a group of investigative journalists to report about the economy exclusively.  HuffPo is working with The Atlantic Philanthropies and several other donors to launch the Huffington Post Investigative Fund with a budget of about $1.75 million.

That is enough for Huffington to hire about 10 staff journalists to focus on the economy.  The work provided by these journalists will also be available for any publication that wants to syndicate it.  “All of us increasingly have to look at different ways to save investigative journalism,” stated Arianna Huffington, co-founder and editor-in-chief of the website.

Even though HuffPo skews to be more liberal, they said that the newly formed economy-focused aspect of the website will be nonpartisan.

Tinkles The Cat Makes A Great Prank For Guests Using Your John

Don’t you hate it when guests stink up your bathroom right before leaving.  Well actually that problem never really happens to me often, but I’m sure that it happens to a lot of folks out there.  With this prank, Tinkles the Toilet Cat pops out of the toilet when someone opens the lids.

Tinkles latches on the underside of the toilet seat rim and it uses suction cups.  Cleaning the cat after playing the prank on guests is probably the only part of this whole affair not being fun.

Tinkles is on sale right now at CollectionsEtc.com for $8.97.
