Jim Clark’s Former Venture Silicon Graphics Sold To Rackable For $25 Million
Jim Clark is having a great life right now. He recently got married and now a company that he started back in the 1990′s has just been sold. Aside from starting Netscape and Healtheon, Clark also started a company called Silicon Graphics.
Rackable Systems acquired Silicon Graphics for $25 million, but the company has total debt of $526.50 million. In terms of assets, the company has about $390.50 million worth.
Back in the 1990′s, the company was making billions in revenue. Three years ago the company had to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Some of the machines that Silicon Graphics built in the past were used in the Jurassic Park movie series.
Some people that Jim Clark got a raw deal, but for a company that seems very unstable right now at least it is better than nothing.
