This one should be a wake-up call for Ford. Sigma Motorworks is developing an electric vehicle that is based on the Ford Mustang. Sigma Motorworks head of ops Matias Gorfinkiel stated that the the Sigma GTE is “a test bed for a commercial high performance sports model that [it] will bring to market by early 2010.”

The Sigma GTE vehicle uses the front and rear differentials from Ford. The cockpit of the vehicle was stripped from an older Ford Pony Mustang car. The car will be able to hit 100 miles per charge and drive at up to 145MPH. Assuming that this project becomes successful, it may become available for sale soon.
