Samsung Plans to Launch Three Android Phones This Year

Forbes is reporting that Samsung plans to launch three Android phones this year. Their source is Dr. Won-Pyo Hong, Samsung’s EVP of mobile global product strategy. The first phone will launch in June outside of the states. The next two phones will launch to a US market in the second half of this year. The US phones will likely go to Sprint and T-Mobile.

The company says that its Android phones will be highly customized to keep operators happy. Samsung is more focused on the Android experience than the Google experience.

Sprint users have patiently been waiting for an Android phone. AT&T has the iPhone, T-Mobie has the G1, and Verizon has the Storm. Sprint on the other hand has an array of “regular” phones.  An Android phone may help boost the company’s image.
