Check out the video above of an ant robot that was designed by Kåre Halvorsen. The A-Pod has a 2 DOF abdomen (tail), 3 DOF head with large mandibles, 6 legs with 3 DOF each, and 25 total servos. The video above shows the body movement and the mandible control of the robot. There are still some mechanical improvements that are left which is why Halvorsen is not showing the ant walking. The A-Pod is controlled with a 2.4 GHz RC transmitter.
