According to CNBC’s Silicon Valley Bureau Chief Jim Goldman, all Macs come preinstalled with Photoshop. Macs also have 4x more battery life than PCs and they come with faster processors. Seriously how did an idiot like this get a job as “Silicon Valley Bureau Chief” for CNBC.
He believes that it will cost you $1,500 to get a $699 PC to perform like a Mac because Macs have higher resolution screens, weigh less, and do not need all the software PCs need to do “cool things.”
This guy has probably never used a computer in his life. He has no idea what he is talking about. I would be perfectly okay with a fair fact-based comparison of the two. But this idiot literally pulled this information out of his you know what.
Most PCs come preinstalled with anti-virus software. You can also get perfectly good anti-virus free of charge (AVG). I have no idea what he means by “multimedia software.” He apparently still lives in 1998. And where the heck can I buy Photoshop for $140?
I could go on and on but you get the point. Jim Goldman is an Idiot.
Seriously CNBC, you would be better off replacing him with a 5 year old.

Eminem’s new album is coming out in mid-May, but he decided to show off the cover ahead of time on Twitter. The album cover has thousands of pills placed together to compose a picture of the artist. This was used as a symbol of his addiction to prescription of medication that kept him away from making his own album since the last four years.
The refill date on the label on the cover states 05-19-09 which is the launch date of the album. The patient name is Marshall Mathers and the address says 8 Mile Road in Detroit. The label mentions to take 1 tablet per day at 3AM. The quantity is 313 which is the area code of Detroit. The doctor prescribing the medication on the label is Dr. Dre of course.
Eminem’s latest song, We Made You parodies celebrities Jessica Simpson and Kim Kardashian along with former hopeful Vice President candidate Sarah Palin. The song is currently ranked #3 on iTunes which is not doing as great as his last song Crack A Bottle. When released, Crack a Bottle broke digital download records.
Fresh from the talks of the potential to make Dell smartphones, China Mobile has released some very impressive numbers regarding their mobile subscribers. Although the revenue per user is falling, China Mobile users are downloading more music, making lots of calls, and texting each other a lot more now than ever.
On China Mobile, over 174.2 billion SMS messages were sent during January 1 through March 31. The carrier also has 384 million users on their wireless music service. The reason why the company is losing more money per user is because they introduced more economical phone plans.
However this year the country started adding 3G networks which will make it easier to sell more value-added services just like AT&T is capitalizing on right now with the iPhone 3G.
Sony Computer Entertainment has released a video game that has been inspired by a deity from the religion of Hinduism. However Rajan Zed, an Indo-American statesman wants the game withdrawn.
The video game is called Hanuman: Boy Warrior and players control Hindu god Lord Hanuman using a joystick, button, and a keyboard. Zed believes that doing so is “denigration.” Hanuman plays a vital role in the story of the Ramayana, an epic tale where there is a battle against King Ravana. Sony begins the game as a “growing up” of Lord Hanuman where he is powerless but gains powers throughout the game.
The game is only available for sale in India as of right now. Atindriya Bose, country manager of Sony stated that there was a lot of consulting with prominent Indian scholars while designing the game. He said that the aim is to encourage young Indians the stories of Lord Hanuman.
In Clare County, Michigan, resident Janie McGhee is working on a project that involves making her home solar and wind powered. “If I don’t have wind, I have sun,” stated McGhee. “If I don’t have sun, I have wind.”
McGhee hopes that this will help her save money on her Consumers Energy electric bill. The whole system is costing her about $20,000 to have installed. The home is a 900 sq. ft. log cabin.
Contractors Building Supply in Copemish, MI is making the project a reality. There is a 1.2 kilowatt WindSpire placed on top of a 30 foot pole near the home. There is also a 1,000-watt ground-mounted solar array. The wind turbine was made by Mariah Power in Manistee, MI.
A solar water heater was installed last year in the home and it cut McGhee’s electric bills in half. The hybrid power-generating system owned by McGhee is believed to be the first in Michigan. Although the cost of the solar system and WindSpire was $20,000, the purchases are eligible for 30% federal tax credit. McGhee believes it will pay for itself in about 15 years.
Bumrungrad International Hospital is a Bangkok, Thailand based medical facility that is planning to introduce wireless technologies throughout their campus.
Outbreaks occur frequently in hospitals because that is where people go when they are sick. To deter outbreaks from spreading throughout an entire hospital, Bumrungrad will be giving patients a Real Time Locating System (RTLS) tag to track their movements wirelessly.
“Once we have that information, we can notify the individuals accordingly so that they can get treated early on as opposed to having the symptoms show and it possibly having been too late,” stated Chang Foo, CTO of Bumrungrad.
Bumrungrad has been known to work with a range of patients for services that include a simple check-up to a complicated face-lift. The patients come to Bumrungrad from all over the world. Fortunately for Bumrungrad, the hospital has not experienced an outbreak.
A couple of years ago Bumrungrad also partnered with a company called Global Care Solutions to digitize medical records. After the Global Care deal, Microsoft Corporation decided to acquire the software company and convert it into the Microsoft Amalga Hospital Information System.
After the RTLS cards are in place, doctors will be able to check a digital chart with the latest lab test results.
