I believe that the “Lux” is the first “green” jewelry concept I’ve seen so far.    The Lux necklace was designed by designer Mae Yokoyama.  The Lux is finished with solar panels that gathers energy from the sun and uses it to power the LED bulbs of the necklace.  This gives the appearance of a person wearing pearls in the dark.  Not only is this a fashion statement, it also raises the awareness of energy conservation to others.
