Sony Ericsson has announced the addition of two mobile phones.  The Yari (left) and the Aino (right) have a major focus on multimedia.  The Yari is more known for gaming and features gesture controls similar to a Wiimote.  The Yari also sports a 2.4″ display, GPS and PlayNow support.  The Yari will be hitting the shelves for €400.

The Aino has a 3″ touchscreen, 8.1 megapixel camera, GPS, HSPA, Sony Remote Play support and will be available in black and white. No word on pricing for the Aino yet, but it is assumed to have a higher retail than the Yari.

Paul Loughridge is currently making artwork out of everyday household items that resemble robots.  Loughridge is from Morgan Hill, California and will be showcasing his work at the SLG Art Boutiki & Gallery in San Jose.

Loughridge said that the only rules he has for his own artwork is that there shouldn’t be any plastic, any welding, and no paint.  Each of the pieces of artwork must have the original pieces.  The above piece is called Mr. Coffee as that is the device he used to create the robot.

Seiko Epson has advanced their ink-jet technology that will give them the benefit of mass-producing OLED (organic LED) TVs within the next decade.  OLEDs are able to handle fast-moving images much better than LCDs and plasma TVs.

“In an OLED screen, a thin layer of organic material produces its own light when an electric current is applied, removing the need for an additional backlight panel. With no need for a backlight, OLED displays are smaller, lighter and consume less power,” stated Martyn Williams of IDG News Service.

Seiko Epson plans on collaborating with other companies to push further technology development of OLEDs.

Earlier this week, a swarm of bees infested a GameStop store in Union Square New York.  About one thousand bees were buzzing on the outside of the door and the employees were forced to lock themselves inside.  One worker put up a sign that said “Look! … closed due to bee infestation.”

It took about two hours to get help from the police.  The bees had built a hive running up the wall outside the GameStop store.  A neighbor of the store attempted to use a camera’s flash to lure the bees away and into a bag.  Then the police bee specialist arrived at about 4PM and used a queen bee’s scent.  The swarm eventually was lured into a box.  Police is sending the bees to hives upstate.

Mark Cuban Disappointed With How Far Internet Video Has Come

Above is a video clip about what Mark Cuban thinks of how far Internet video has gotten so far. Walt Mossberg asked Mark Cuban why Internet video technology is growing at a pace that he believes is not fast enough. Cuban directly pinpointed the reason as being when Google bought YouTube.

He said that Google did not try right away to monetize YouTube and the message was ubiquity and volume. When the only focus is ubiquity and volume, then there isn’t time to further develop Internet video technology. Cuban then complimented Hulu for focusing on monetizing Internet video.

Cuban also pointed out how YouTube is subsidizing bandwidth for the world. I highly recommend watching the video to see Cuban’s perspective as it is an interesting discussion.

As many of you all are aware, Microsoft is getting ready to launch a new search engine called Bing.  Bing will be fully launched by June 3 and looks very similar to Live.com based on the screenshots that I grabbed from TechCrunch.

Even though the homepage and design look very similar to Live.com in terms of glossiness and high-quality images, the algorithm behind the search has been altered quite a bit according to Microsoft SVP Yusuf Mehdi.

Every time that you search for a particular topic such as health, travel, shopping, sports, news, etc., there is a customized layout.  For example, when search for travel deals there is an itinerary page that comes up, powered by Farecast.  When searching for shopping deals, the Microsoft Cashback program is pulled up.

Check out some of the screen shots after the jump of Bing.  The internal code-name for Bing is called Kumo as of right now.
