The World Games Stadium To Have 8,844 Solar Panels

Toyo Ito architects are working around the clock to make sure that the operations around the main stadium for The World Games in Taiwan. Here is the best part of the stadium: It will be completely powered by solar energy. The cost of building the stadium is roughly $150 million and it can hold about 55,000 audience members. If the solar array is connected to the grid when the stadium is not being used, it can power 80% of the surrounding neighborhood. The size of the stadium is about 14,155 square meters and the roof is covered in 8,844 solar panels. This generates 1.14GWh of electricity per year.
