The Bruno-Eminem Stunt Had The Internet Guessing

Dressed as the gay Austrian fashion icon Brüno, Sacha Baron Cohen flew into the MTV Movie Awards from a wire harness, but ended up falling on Eminem face first but with his rear end sticking in Eminem’s face. Furious about the whole event, Eminem pushed Cohen around and left the award ceremony.

As soon as the event took place, a massive debate started taking place on the Internet. Was this whole incident staged or not? Both Eminem and Cohen both wanted to come back in the limelight. Eminem released a new album and Cohen is releasing a new movie based on Brüno.

To me the incident looked pretty real but there were some indications that it could be fake such as the prepared camera angles of Eminem leaving the show and it sounded like the white rapper had a microphone on him at the time.

Scott Aukerman, one of the show’s writers admitted that the whole incident was staged on his Tumblr account (removed now):
“Yes, the Bruno/Eminem incident was staged. That’s all anyone wants to talk about, so let’s get it out of the way. They rehearsed it at dress and yes, it went as far as it did on the live show then.”

There you have it folks. Straight from the horse’s mouth in case you weren’t sure.
