Above is the Facebook profile of Mike Lee of Orlando, Florida. Lee is a fan of Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal, Michael Steele, and Senator Jim Bunning. During the Facebook vanity URL rush, you would expect him to register the name “Facebook.com/Mike,” “Facebook.com/ MikeLee,” or something along those lines. Surprisingly, he chose Facebook.com/ToddPalin instead. Todd Palin is the husband of former VP candidate Sarah Palin.
Over 3 million user names were registered within several hours of the rush, but many of them are nowhere close to the actual names of people. That is not surprising since many people do not use their real names on MySpace or on e-mail addresses. Facebook is now even starting to delete the user names of accounts that just seem off. One account they recently deleted belonged to “Haywood.Jablome”
Some of the other entertaining usernames that were registered includes:
- RickRollNeverGonnaGiveYouUpNeverGonnaLetYouDown666
- Hades
- George Bush
- Limbaugh
- Wolfram
If you know of any other funny vanity name URLs, let us know in the comments.

The Warsash Maritime Academy in the United Kingdom has a program where pilots drive around miniature oil tankers in a pond. Apparently the mini oil tankers are difficult to drive around and emergency situations are replicated. Personally if you stuck me in one of these, I’d be too tempted to play a game of bumper boats. Some of the emergency situations include a failing engine. These miniature versions of a large tanker runs about $245,000 each. Given the recent pirate attacks, I am wondering how the Academy will be able to replicates a similar emergency situation using these tiny tankers.

Mowing the lawn is never a fun activity unless it is mostly automated. One of the most fun and fully-automated ways to mow the lawn will most likely be performed by using the Husqvarna Panthera Leo Mower. This lawn mower is electric-powered and is made out of recycled materials.
The Husqvarna also has an LCD monitor and sensors built in. The LCD uses the sensors to report how fast you are going and what height you should mow the lawn at. The LCD also reports if you’re about to go up or down a hill or if you are able to smash into some sort of object. This might be useful for those of you that are accident-prone.
Although the Panthera Leo is a concept, the company said that they plan on taking a similar concept to production within the next 5 years.
