Analytics company Webtrends has bought out Widemile.  Webtrends designs web site measurement, data warehousing, SEM optimization, social measurement, and visitor targeting software.  Widemile designs testing and optimization services for online marketing companies.

Webtrends provides analytics services to large companies such as Virgin, ShopNBC, McAfee, and Microsoft.  The financial details of the transaction were undisclosed.

Widemile’s technology will be rolled into Webtrends’ own optimization and testing software. “Widemile, in our opinion, serves the needs of the market best,” stated Webtrends’ VP of Marketing Jascha Kaykas-Wolff in an interview with ReadWriteWeb.
