A couple of months ago, I switched from a Canon camera to a Nikon Coolpix camera.  I never looked back at Canon after.  Now Nikon has announced that they are adding three new cameras to their Coolpix line of cameras.  The three new cameras are the S70, the S640, and the S570.

The S640 is a 12.2 megapixel with 5x wide optical zoom, 28mm equivalent wide-angle lens, 2.7″ display, and an ultra-fast autofocus system.  The S640 will be available in three colors for $499.

The S570 Coolpix camera is the successor of the S560 Coolpix.  The S570 will have 12 megapixel resolution and will cost $349.

The S70 will be 12.1 megapixel and will include a 3.5″ OLED touchscreen, 5X optical zoom, sensitivity of up to ISO 6400, 3.5″ OLED touchscreen, and 5X optical zoom.  The S70 will retail for $599 and will be available in red, black, or champagne.

All three of these new Coolpix cameras will be available in September.
