Sexting In China Will Give You Jail Time

The government in Henan, a province in China, has threatened cellphone users about sexting.  Sexting is a term used to describe sending scantily clad images of one’s self to contacts.  Sexting may take place voluntarily and involuntarily.

Those who send out sexts could face five days in prison plus a 500 yuan fine ($73).  Sending three or more sexts could land people 10 days in prison plus the fine.  Sending sexts could also be used as evidence for sexual harassmen charges.

“I’m totally for the rules. It’s uncomfortable to get dirty text messages from male friends and even more gross when they are from strangers,” stated Zhang Kai in an interview with the China Daily.
