The London Heathrow Airport is the world’s busiest airport in terms of international passenger traffic.  The airport has just completed a $41 million project in the form of automated transport pods.  The four passenger transport pods take people from Terminal 5 to the airport parking lots.

There is a touchscreen where you tap what airport parking lot you would like to stop at.  The pods then travel to your destination at 25MPH.  If this transportation system is successful, then the airport will add another $400 million to the project and possibly expand the service to airports.

The new pod transport system is called the PRT (personal rapid transport). Heathrow has been developing this transport system for over 12 years.
